Love Letters

Nothing says Valentine's Day like a love letter. After all typical Valentine's are just miniature love letters geared toward kids. This fun craft creates a beautiful decor piece perfect for the holiday.

To start I used a 5x7 pallet board from chalk couture. (You can purchase the chalk couture products used for this here)

In the top center of the board I used a Chalk Couture transfer and our chalkology chalk paste in black to screen print my image on to the pallet board. (Vinyl users you can do this with your machines as well but I prefer the ease and speed of the reusable chalk transfer for multiple productions for my shop.)

Then using a black permanent marker and a ruler I drew diagonal lines to form the outline of an envelope. The lines don't come together and that's ok! We will hide that part later.

The final part was adding a wooden heart cutout to the pallet board using hot glue. I purchased  the cutouts from the dollar store and had painted them red for this project. This was followed by roughing up the edges of the boards with a little ink and a dabber. This gives the rustic, vintage feel of an old love letter. I then added some ribbon and a small vintage key for a little whimsy.

The final product is this adorable pallet board perfect for a tiered tray, mantel, or countertop of you choice. Let me know what you think and if I should add the DIY craft kit or finished product to my Etsy shop!

Happy Krafting
